re-submitting an old piece that got deleted during my unexplained cleanup.

I remembered some of the technicals so here's the update:

Planet texture base is Blue Marble from NASA. Do note that i shuffled, cloned, and added a lot of other textures (all of which are from imageafter.com)

Starfield was created from scratch by me

Clouds and just a tiny bit of terrain are from sxc.hu

terrain, again, by me.

just beautiful!
the sky is such a surrealistically wonderful counterpoint to the domestic reality of the earth.

The earth looks like a photograph of serene foothills. the sky looks like a tripped out peyote vision. it's an amazing combination of real and unreal.
